Support us through Belgrade Less Ordinary magazine

    19 April, 2021

Belgrade Less Ordinary (BLO) is a semiannual magazine in the English language, the latest product of the organization Liceulice. It is designed as a socially responsible, activist guide for the guests of Belgrade and Serbia – „2in1“ product because through it you get a high quality magazine with excellent texts on various topics, but also an opportunity to be humane and help Liceulice’s numerous beneficiaries. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next edition of BLO is currently on hold, but you can support us by buying the first and second edition on our website.

In addition to presenting the most interesting alternative tours, local brands, street artists, formal and informal cultural centers, film festivals and museums, BLO will guide you through Belgrade’s non-smoking and laptop friendly cafes, vegetarian, and vegan eat-outs, as well as socially responsible products and initiatives. Moreover, BLO will show you the city as seen through the eyes of members of the LGBT community, Liceulice vendors, people with disability, bikers, environmental and left-wing activists, foreign students, global nomads, and the migrants in the asylum center on the outskirts of the city. The magazine also features the short history of Yugoslavia, the introduction to the Yugoslav alternative music scene, story of the revival of socialist memorials built throughout Yugoslavia after WWII, as well as a critical look at the history of Serbia. BLO is printed on 80 pages, in full color, on quality paper. The authors are local journalists, designers, and cultural workers, but also the foreigners residing in Serbia.

While BLO is designed to be your Belgrade companion, it also gives you the opportunity to be humane. Your donation will help Liceulice deal more effectively with the issues of homelessness, poverty, disability, and other forms of exclusion.

Since 2010, the Liceulice organization has operated on the principle of economic and social inclusion, employing members of marginalized groups as vendors of the Liceulice magazine (71 issues up until now, up to 10,000 copies per issue). Our vendors are people experiencing poverty, exclusion and homelessness, or people who live with some form of physical or mental disability. In the previous period, we managed to secure a job, an income, and psycho-social and economic support for more than 400 individuals who can rarely find work on the regular labor market.

Donate now to ensure that our vendors have our support through this difficult period.
